By: Francois Coetzee, Founder of GoToGuys Digital Marketing People often ask me, “Francois, how did you build GoToGuys?”
- My honest answer is: I didn’t build it alone. Yes, I took decisions, I stayed up late, I strategised, I designed, I shot content, I hustled and pitched and pushed. But at the deepest level, GoToGuys is not mine.
- I believe it belongs to God. I see myself as a steward, not an owner. This is my story.
The first steps: more faith than money When GoToGuys started, it didn’t begin with a big investor or a perfect plan. It started with a conviction in my heart and a very real sense that God was asking me to trust Him with my gifts. I didn’t always have the most expensive equipment. I didn’t have the biggest team. I didn’t have decades of experience. What I did have was:
A passion to help businesses grow. A love for creative storytelling. A deep belief that God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary things when they walk with Him. There were moments where the numbers didn’t make sense, where the safer option would have been to get a job and forget the dream. But each time, in prayer, I felt the same quiet nudge: “Take the next step. I am with you.” Learning that I work “for” God, not just “for” myself Something changed in me the day I consciously decided: “Lord, this is Your business first. I’m the manager. You are the main owner.” That decision shifted how I see everything: Clients are not just “leads”, they are people God cares about. Projects are not just invoices, they are opportunities to serve with excellence. Team members are not just “resources”, they are people with calling and potential. When you believe you work for God: Integrity is non-negotiable, even when no one is watching. How you treat people matters more than how perfect the portfolio looks. Success is not just about revenue; it’s about faithfulness to what He asked you to build.
The hard days: when faith is tested Not every chapter has been easy.
There have been: Months where cash flow was tight. Projects that fell through at the last moment. Days where I walked out of meetings feeling discouraged and questioned if I was really the “right guy” for this. But in those seasons, I’ve experienced God’s faithfulness in ways that go beyond business: A new client opening up exactly when we needed it. A door closing, only for a better one to open later. A sense of peace that doesn’t come from numbers on a spreadsheet. Each time, I am reminded: This is not about my glory. It’s about His. Working with excellence because He deserves it Honouring God in business is not about being “soft” on quality or hiding behind religion when things go wrong. To me, it means the opposite: if I say I’m doing this for Him, the standard must be high. That’s why at GoToGuys we push for: Professional visual quality – warm, cinematic, and crafted. Clear strategy, not guesswork. Honest communication with clients, even when it’s uncomfortable. Showing up with energy, respect and commitment every single day. Excellence is worship in action. When we deliver our best, we are saying: “Lord, this is my offering. Use it.”
The journey with people: clients, team, community One of the biggest blessings of GoToGuys has been the people God has brought along the way—clients who became friends, partners who believe in the vision, team members who bring their own gifts and passion to the table. Every time a business owner tells us: “You helped us grow.” “You captured our story perfectly.” “You made us feel seen and valued.” I quietly thank God, because I know it is His grace that multiplies the work of our hands. Why I share this I’m not sharing this to look “holy” or to push anyone. I’m sharing it because it’s the truth of how GoToGuys was built and how I choose to live and lead. If you’re a business owner reading this, maybe you are also carrying a dream that feels bigger than your own strength.
My encouragement to you is this: Don’t underestimate what God can do with your “little” when you place it in His hands. Invite Him into your decisions, your plans, and your numbers. Build with integrity and excellence, even when no one is clapping yet. For me, every proposal we send, every campaign we launch, every shoot we run is another opportunity to say: “God, this is Yours. Thank You for trusting me to steward it.” The future of GoToGuys As we move forward, my prayer is simple: That GoToGuys will always be a place where God is honoured. That the businesses we work with will not only grow in numbers, but in hope and confidence. That every step we take will be led by Him, not just by trends and algorithms. I am grateful for the journey so far. But I am even more excited for what lies ahead—because I know the main Owner of this company is faithful, righteous and good.
